The price of internet is increasing.  Especially if you want unlimited.

AT&T, T-mobile and Verizon all offer some home plans that are dirt cheap and they give you router!

Sadly, not everyone lives in a area that has any of these offerings and they have to look for internet elsewhere.

4G LTE Internet service is becoming very popular.

How It Works

In a nutshell, a distributor buys a terabytes of data from one of the three top carriers then that distributor resells it to retailers who then sell it to customers.  As you can see, there are a lot of middlemen in this business and all of that adds to the cost of internet.

Fixed Data vs. Unlimited

~

Fixed Data Cap

Fixed data plans cost less than unlimited.  With fixed data, the distributor knows exactly who is using what and knows exactly what each gigabyte is costing him and can price accordingly.

Fixed Data Cap

With unlimited plans (unlimited is normally a terabyte), the distributor does not know if the customer will use 10 gb or 1000 so they price has to cover every range in between.  Therefore, the unlimited costs more.
