Do I have to sign a contract? Is there a credit check?
All of our plans require no contract, and no credit checks! They are month to month prepaid subscription plans. Each payment prepays your next 30 days. You may of course cancel your subscription with us at anytime.
How many devices can I connect?
Routers and hotspots have variable numbers of devices that can connect at a time.
Most allow in the range of 5 to 20.
The Q2 can connect up to 30 devices.
The Eagle can connect 10 devices.
What can I do to get better speed?
Outdoor Directional Antenna
Outdoor Antennas can be used in those remote areas that have poor tower coverage and reception.
The antenna can increase speed and connectivity in those areas that are not getting great reception.
What is throttling?
Throttling is lowering your speed. Often, a carrier will offer a plan with XGB of LTE, and then “unlimited” data afterwards at a throttled/reduced speed. For some MVNOs, even on the LTE portion, they cap the speed at which they deliver data at less than you could achieve with a major carrier, essentially freeing up room for the carrier to deliver faster speeds for other users.
What is a data cap?
With a soft data cap, although the plans may be technically unlimited, once data usage is reached, a “soft cap” on the premium data occurs. This reduces speeds to 150 kbps – 300kbps.
With a hard data cap, these plans stop producing data upon reaching this cap and the service is off until the billing cycle resets.
How is this different from my unlimited phone plan?
Unlimited phone plans are ONLY unlimited for PHONE data use. Unlimited phone plans only allow 5-10gb of tethering (the ability to use the phones data with your computer, tablet, or other connected devices.) That is the equivalent of streaming a couple HD Netflix movies. Unlike an unlimited phone plan, our plans and devices can entirely replace your slow home or office internet solution for an unlimited, unthrottled, high-speed wireless data connection.
What can I do with 300 gb of data?
AT&T has an excellent data calculator. You move the sliders to measure surfing, watching tv or listening to music and it will show you how much data each activitiy takes.
Where can I use the service?
4G service is available wherever there are cell towers.
It works in your home or business. You can take it in your RV or out to your campsite.
What is prioritizing?
Prioritizing is actually DE-prioritizing.
After a certain limit, carriers will “de-prioritize” your data if there is congestion on their network. Essentially, you’re promised full-speed data up to the de-prioritization threshold, and then full-speed if the network is not congested. Fuzzy, but it gives the carrier some wiggle room to let lower-capacity users get full-speed over higher capacity ones. It won’t be as slow 3G speed, but it will be slower than full-speed LTE.
So, essentially de-prioritization happens with all carriers and only occurs when there are too many heavy users at once resulting in there being no other choice but to single out the heaviest users to make room for everyone on the network. If a network is freed up then unlimited 4G speed will be attainable for those that use the internet for normal use. (Streaming and gaming in binge mode is not considered normal use)
Throttling is actually putting a cap on the 4G speeds of each user under any circumstances, even normal and responsible use. For example, someone who has a plan that only allows for 10GB of 4G LTE data speeds would immediately be slowed down to 3G or slower after they’ve used their designated 10GB. With de-prioritization unless the network becomes congested, which happens with every cable company’s internet out there, then unlimited 4G plans will be able to perform as advertised.
Examples of 1GB of usage: 2 hours of standard video streaming or 36 hours of music streaming or 68 hours of web browsing.
Will this work with a VPN?
Some VPN’s are compatible and some are such data hogs that they will not work. There is no way to tell for sure which ones will or will not work.
How do I connect a device?
First, open the Wi-Fi settings on your device and search for available networks. If your mobile hotspot or router is powered on and ready, the network name should appear in the list of networks. Then, select the network name and enter your network password. Finally, click/press “join” or “connect”. That’s it!
Which plan is best for me?
Each color represents one of the four major cellular carrier networks. Therefore, the primary difference between each plan is the coverage each network provides. View each of our plan’s coverage map to identify which is most likely to work at your location. For help with selecting a plan, visit the Coverage Map page and look up your location.
Which device is right for me?
The two main devices we offer are hotspots and routers. Routers are best for most home/office setups, as they provide far superior range and connectivity. Hotspots provide a battery powered solution to take your WIFI on the go. All of our devices ship pre-configured and plug-and-play, which means setup is simply connecting the power cable to the wall and putting in a password.
What are the average speeds of your unlimited hotspots?
The speeds of all of our hotspots and routers depend entirely on how close you are to cell towers in your area, which carrier you choose and how congested the tower is. We’ve had reports of over 80 MBPS from those who are close to a cell tower with LTE+ (Advanced) all the way down to 1 MBPS that are several miles away from a tower. You will want to pick the carrier plan that has the best and strongest LTE signal where you will be utilizing the hotspot or router to ensure the best possible speeds.
